Jornadas Cientificas sobre Arquitectura, Educacion y Sociedad

Dos miembros del grupo, David Abondano y Manuela Ianni, son parte de las Jornadas Científicas sobre Arquitectura, Educación y Sociedad; organizadas por la Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, del 23 al 25 de mayo de 2013. Presentan las comunicaciones de títulos "El Modelo Mecánico en la Arquitectura Moderna y en la Arquitectura Digital" y  "Performance-based design in architecture. Proyecto como sistema, complejidad y ordenador", respectivamente.

SEMANCO Workshop in La Salle, Barcelona

An interactive  workshop "Analysing and visualising energy related data in our buildings, towns and cities" of SEMANCO (one of our research projects co-funded by the European Union) was held in La Salle, Barcelona; on dates 11 and 12 April 2013. The objective of the workshop was to bring together professionals (and their projects) interested in the area of study of SEMANCO to identify cross- cutting issues and possible synergies. Thirty-eight participants and sixteen projects took part of this two day dissemination event.

VoCamp on energy enriched BIMs

ARC researchers take part on the Vocabulary Camp that is taking place in Brussels, 21-22 February 2013. This is the second VoCamp organized by the FP7 project Adapt4EE and it will be dedicated to enriching BIM models used during design phases for enhanced energy performance analysis and simulation. 

New book release:

A new book titled Shaping design teaching. Explorations into the teaching of form, edited by Nicolai Steinø and Mine Özkar has been published by Aalborg University Press.  This book presents an overview of form-making as it is taught in different architecture and design programs across the world.  It is a collection of pedagogical experiences that may be interesting for instructors and students of the field. Professor Leandro Madrazo contributes to this book with the chapter called "Understanding form as structure. Morphology and aesthetics".  

OIKOntology: a semantic search engine

ARC presents OIKOntology: a semantic tool which enables end-user exploration and data querying of the databases of the OIKODOMOS Virtual Campus. The three databases of the Virtual Campus -OIKODOMOS Workspaces , OIKODOMOS Case Repository and OIKOpedia- have been translated onto an ontology in order to facilitate integrated access to them.

The Plus Ultra Neighbourhood in the exhibition of "My Very Own City"

The participatory analysis of the Plus Ultra neighbourhood in Barcelona, carried out in an OIKODOMOS seminar, is part of the exhibition of "My very own city" which is taking place in the 6th Urban Researcher and Knowleddge Symposium, celebrated in Barcelona, 8-10 October 2012.

Jornadas de investigación en el marco de Aristos Campus Mundus 2015

Leandro Madrazo (Director y miembro del grupo ARC); introduce programa pedagógico SDR Sistemas de Representación,"Desarrollando modelos de aprendizaje combinado con las TIC: innovación pedagógica en arquitectura, y más allá", en las Jornadas de investigación en el marco de Aristos Campus Mundus 2015.  

Asímismo, Marco Massetti y Gerardo Wadel (miembros del grupo también) presentan los proyectos de investigación que el grupo ARC Enginyeria i Arquitectura La Salle tiene acerca de la aplicación de tecnologías semánticas a la información energética.

A member of the ARC group: winner of an eCAADe grant

Manuela Ianni, a member of the ARC group, is one of the winners of the second eCAADe grant for her PhD proposal titled "Performance- Based Design in Architecture". Manuela presents this proposal within the framework of the eCAADe PhD workshop on date September 11, 2012; prior to the conference of eCAADe 2012.
